Inside vCIOToolbox, located in the University, we provide our users with a Policy Template library. These templates support common IT related HR and Technology policies that can be utilized in their current format, or customized to meet your specific requirements.
Templates can be shared with your customers within the IT Review or GRC assessment by linking as evidence supporting any assessment standard.
To use these templates our best practice is to follow the directions below.
1. Download the template or templates you wish to use from the University Module > Policy Template Library > [FILE DOWNLOAD]
2. You can edit and customize the policy after download. All templates download in a standard Word document format.
3. Navigate to GRC > Policies to upload the templates you wish to include in your Global library. These can also be any policies or documents you create on your own.
4. To upload the file navigate to New File (1), upload by choosing Choose File (2), and entering a description (3).
5. This will create your global library of policies. YOu can download a copy of the policy document direct from the library or you can align a policy to an assessment standard.
6. Inside your assessment you can connect to any policy document you wish from the evidence section within the assessment standard by 1) clicking on Reference and Evidence Links > Add Policy, and 2) choosing the template you wish to attach.
7. You will then see your connected document within the assessment and available for reporting.
