Preparation


Steps you will need to take to prepare for the cutover:

1. Remove the current connection to the legacy instance of ConnectWise and save. QBR > Admin > Integration > Settings.

2. Confirm all Settings have been removed QBR > Integrations > ConnectWise Sync.

3. Reset the integration with the new settings and click save.
4. Test the connection to confirm the instance can be reached. Confirm the test was successful.
5. Configure your settings - DO NOT SYNC THE SYSTEM
6. Remove the site settings by navigating to QBR > Admin > Integration > Settings. This will ensure the system only performs an auto-sync once we are ready to migrate.

7. Send your site URL to support@vciotoolbox.com so we can add it during migration.

****Note- You will notice that when you remove the site, your settings screen (Admin > Integrations Settings > ConnectWise sync will return to a blank state.  The settings will be retained and will return unchanged when we add the site setting back into the configuration.*****

There are some considerations you need to know when migrating.

  • Customers, updated with new PSA and Connection
  • Assets - The old PS integration reference and assets will be deleted, and the new PSA will take over as the primary source and re-synced.
  • Recommendations - We will remove the old PSA integration, but the recommendations will remain.
  • Tickets - We will remove the old PSA integration on existing tickets, but ticket data and status remain. 
  • Contacts (old PSA contacts) will be deleted and re-synced from the new PSA connection.
  • Agreements will be retained from the old PSA.  If the Opportunity and Agreements are present in the new PSA Instance and the filters allow it, duplicates can be created. 
  • Sites will be synced.
  • The original instance templates will remain as-is.
